Think about yourself and any team / organization you are in today. Identify an area in your work and/or personal life that is challenging and / or changing. Now, think about the following 4 levels of Change below and assess what areas are the ones that may be keeping you from experiencing powerful change personally or organizationally.
Level One Change
Knowledge – What if you knew that you possessed everything necessary to navigate the challenge and changes you’re experiencing today?
“For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.”
– 2 Peter 1:3-4
By FAITH we submit and surrender to a God who is, has and does. Without faith it is impossible… (Heb. 11:6) to change. We do this by agreeing with God. We do this by changing the way we think about our situation, ourselves and God. And faith becomes the glue that brings heavenly grace into proximity with earthly need.
Level Two Change
Attitude – How is your attitude, will and feelings is contributing to this challenge and change in your life?
“For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”
– Phil. 2:13
The will is a powerful epicenter in human beings. It is the one area that Jesus taught us to subordinate relationally to Him. It is developed over time and reinforced based on outcomes. Therefore, believing (By FAITH) that our powerful emotions can change, and that by changing them we will see unmet desires [what we want] – is not easy.
With COURAGE. Change requires courage. Courage is expressive faith. Faith that does. The wonderful thing about this layer of glue is that it takes God to believe God. And, it takes us to courageously act with God to see change.
Level Three Change
Behavior / Action – What action could you take today – in agreement with God – to shift the way you think, accompanied by faith, with Courageous desire in order to see an opportunity out of your current challenge?
“I pray that out of God’s glorious riches He may [will] strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being [Epicenter], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted [Our thoughts become roots that feed our lives] and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people [relationally-organizationally], to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
– Ephesians 3:16-19
Level Four Change
Relationally – Organizationally – Culturally – What would happen to us and those we lead and influence if we engaged in a more collaborative way versus individual way?
Final thought, the possibilities of sustainable success grow exponentially when we do it with others who [are willing] to pursue the same desires for change, growth and continuous improvement. Covenant Provision and Promises are fulfilled through Communion (ity). Come into unity with God and each other and watch what happens. When we build community around the promises of God we are partaking in a NOW manifestation of those very things.
